Apple has stepped on the gas for AirTag, the tracking device it first unveiled in 2021. It was stated that the second generation product will come with a one-year delay, that is, it will be introduced in 2025. So what will Apple AirTag 2 features be?
Apple AirTag 2 may appear in 2025
According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is taking its time with AirTag. He first predicted that the second-generation accessory would enter mass production at the end of 2024. However, in his latest analysis, he stated that the production schedule of AirTag 2 has been pushed back to 2025.
AirTag, which was launched in April 2021, exceeded estimates with sales of up to 35 million in its first two years. The tracking device, which achieved great success in shipments, opened the door for Apple to develop a more advanced AirTag.
But the development process took longer than expected. Although the first model was successful, it has some limitations. Foremost among these is the short range. For example, the iPhone 15 has 60-meter Find support, while AirTag supports a maximum of 10-15 meters.
Although Kuo did not specify a specific quarter, it is expected to arrive in the first half of 2025. Apple is known to be developing an AirTag 2 that will integrate with its Vision Pro and other devices.
In addition, Apple is expected to address some security concerns. It is also possible that AirTag will receive software innovations such as sharing family members and anti-tracking alerts.
